Nauseated and disgusted. That’s how I felt when I read the Ombudsman’s comments on Transport Malta (December 7). How can any government stay unresponsive when a much-respected Ombudsman (and an ex-Chief Justice to boot) is driven to describe Transport Malta as inefficient, incompetent and arrogant, “an instance of sheer arrogance at its very worst and an example of how a public authority should not treat citizens”?
A year ago the same Ombudsman did almost the same with Enemalta and the Malta Resources Authority with regard to the June 2009 outages. I suffered over €5,000 in damages and am still waiting for something to happen following the Ombudsman’s advice.
It seems to me some public authorities consider themselves above the very government that appointed them, meriting the same phrase “sheer arrogance at its very worst”.
