Mancini returns to Brazil

Brazilian winger Mancini has returned to his homeland to rejoin his first club Atletico Mineiro after an unhappy two-and-a-half year spell at Inter. The 30-year-old was one of then coach Jose Mourinho’s first signings when he joined Inter in 2008.

The winger had impressed in a successful five-year spell at Roma.

But he never settled at Inter and was even loaned out to rivals Milan for half of last season.

And having barely featured this season either, Mancini has been sold to the club from Belo Horizonte.

Inter announced the deal yesterday although they gave no financial details. Mancini played just 36 times for the club scoring a meagre two goals following his 13 million euro transfer.

He had made only two brief substitute appearances this season playing a total of 16 minutes.

Even at Milan he was hardly used, featuring in just seven games, mostly from the bench.
