St Paul was shipwrecked on Malta around 60 AD. To some extent Maltese society is shipwrecked in our times.

There is much good to be seen, nevertheless, and we Maltese are a generous people judging by donations to L-Istrina and Id-Dar tal-Providenza in recent days.

Isn’t it time to embark on the cause for the beatification of Mgr Mikiel Azzopardi and of Mgr Giuseppe Depiro, to mention just two of the many good Maltese and Gozitan souls who have inspired generations to do what is good? All we need now is able and active postulators for the causes of these saintly men (and women).

Malta needs more than three saints: Paul, Publius and Dun Ġorġ Preca.

So let’s get started.
