Forever in the public eye, whether it’s for her provocative music or inventive wardrobe, Lady Gaga made sure she was in the news from the very first day of 2011.

Clearly aware that anything Gaga-related would make the news, the notorious New Yorker announced she would be releasing Born This Way, the follow-up to her mega-selling breakthrough debut The Fame, on May 23, with the lead single to be premiered on February 13, the latter happening to also be the date of the 53rd Grammy Awards.

Not one to do things in half measures, Lady Gaga made the announcement via Twitter by posting a daring photo of Born This Way’s ‘cheeky’ artwork and a caption that read “The Song 2 13 11 The Record 5 23 11”, along with a note that read “This has to be the happiest and most exciting night of my life. You’ve created this moment. You imagined me. You are, you wrote Born This Way”.

Lady Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) has performed in Malta twice during the Isle of MTV festival. She is currently number seven on the annual list of Forbes’ World’s 100 Most Powerful Women.
