Around €400 were stolen from a shop in Żebbug by an armed and hooded man yesterday evening.

The police said the thief entered the shop in Mgr Milanesi Street, and demanded money from the salesgirl before fleeing the scene. No one was injured.

Duty magistrate Edwina Grima is holding an inquiry. The police are investigating. This is the second hold-up in Żebbuġ in a week.
