ODA funding

The Foreign Affairs Ministry is calling for expressions of interest from NGOs interested in submitting

project proposals in line with Malta’s overseas development policy.

NGOs involved in humanitarian and development assistance can qualify for official development assistance that will be partly financed by the ministry within the limits of its financial provisions for 2011.

The ministry intends to continue maintaining a strong coordinating role in organising humanitarian and development assistance to help the poorest countries, particularly in Africa.

The projects would be focused on helping these societies achieve economic and social progress based on the notion of “combating poverty through development”.

Last year, 16 projects were financed through ODA funds.

An adjudicating committee will evaluate the submissions. Foinformation call 2204 2225/2204 2237 or e-mail alfred.agius@gov.mt.
