Perks for the MEPs
With reference to recent correspondence on MEPs’ salaries, there are only two words to describe MEPs’ salaries, bonuses, fringe benefits, pensions and other perks –“gravy train”.

Gravy train is a term used to show the outrages salaries and perks MEPs enjoy. I wonder, could it be that local MPs are tryi;ng to catch this train also ? Is this the reason for the latest increase ? I do hope that local MPs realize that their salaries, perks and uncapped pension is paid only by us , the Maltese taxpayer. If the financial situation is bad for us workers and pensioners local MPs should not be extra privileged and take more than they are worth out of the national coffers.

If the Meps are getting paid by the EU then not such a big deal, because the other EU Meps from the other 26 EU States are making the same salaries. But if the Meps are getting paid strictly by the Maltese Government, then yes there are a few other names I can come up with. So please can anybody clear this up for me? Perks for the MEPs, I like that.
