The prices of Benna milk will rise as of Wednesday because of the increase in the price of animal feed, the milk producer said today.

The most popular product, the 1000ml milk carton (2.5% fat) will see its price rise by 4c to 76c.

The following are the new prices:

Whole Milk 3.5% fat 500ml (the dark blue carton) = 46c (up 1 cent); whole milk 3.5% fat 1000ml = 79c (+ 1 cent);

Milk 2.5% Fat 500ml (the light blue carton) = 44c (up 3 cents). Milk 2.5% fat 1000ml = 76c (up 4 cents)

Skimmed milk 0.3% fat 500ml (green carton) = 43c (reduced by 1 cent) Skimmed milk 0.3 fat = 74 cents (up two cents)

Milk Drinks 500 ml = 60c (up 5 cents).

There are no changes in the prices of yoghurts, rikotta, creams, mozzarella and gbejniet.

MDP pointed out that its costs for the purchase of raw milk had risen by 7% since October, apart from increases in production costs, and such increases could no longer be absorbed without substantial losses to the company.
