Chorus Urbanus recently presented the 13th edition of its annualYuletide concert at St George’s Basilica in Victoria.

The first part of the concert was dedicated to Mozart. The choir performed Alma Dei Creatoris, Laudate Dominus, Ave Verum and theGloria from The Coronation Mass with the participation of soloists Yvonne Galea, Hilda Grima, Mary Xerri, Mario Portelli and Noel Galea.

The second part consisted of Christmas carols. The junior section of the choir joined in to perform Ninni La Tibkix Iżjed, Ejjew La Ddumux, Walking in the Air andJien Tifel Fqajjar. The choir then accompanied Portelli and Galea in interpreting O Little Town of Bethlehem and God Rest Ye MerryGentlemen.

The programme ended with Adeste Fidelis and The Ukranian Bell Carol. As an encore, Chorus Urbanus performed Hallelujah from Handel’s The Messiah.

An audio-visual feature about the history of Chorus Urbanus by CVC Productions was also shown.

A collection in aid of Arka Foundation was also held.
