On behalf of Central Office Ejjew Għandi (Children’s Homes) we would like to thank all those who invited to Christmas parties children living in the Church’s residential homes and domestic violence shelters and those making use of the services of our child day-care centres. They returned home very happy and excited with the presents they received.
We are indeed very sorry once again not to have accepted all the invitations forwarded to us because that would have been almost next to impossible apart from the fact that it would not have been physically and psychologically healthy.
But we would be happy to accept such invitations during the year. A big thank you goes to the public for the generosity and support experienced during the Families in Need Campaign organised by RTK Radio and l-Istrina 2010 coordinated by the President of the Republic and the Community Chest Fund and televised on the local television channels.
Another prosit goes to all those who volunteered in the organisation of these campaigns and to the many parish communities, religious orders, companies and individuals who have contributed financially so that the Church in Malta can continue to care for and protect children and families in our residential homes, child day-care centres and shelters for victims of domestic violence.
A special thanks goes to the HSBC Cares for Children Fund, the Malta Housing Authority, the National Lotteries Good Causes Fund, the Malta Financial Services Authority Children’s Foundation, Vodafone Foundation and the Malta Charities of London.
We can say that these wonderful initiatives and others which want to remain anonymous have contributed to the containment of poverty in our islands. We should be absolutely sure that our Father in Heaven will never forget what we all have done to the least of His sons and daughters in need.
We promise you our daily prayers.
