Mario Pace finished 10th among 17 bodybuilders while competing at the IFBB Masters World Championships, held earlier this month in Antalya, Turkey.
This was a very good result for Pace considering the high level of the participants at the IFBB Masters event.
Meanwhile, IFBB Malta’s 2011 national championships will take place on April 23 at the Cottonera Sports Complex.
In a statement, IFBB Malta announced that next year’s championships will also feature classic bodybuilding and the mixed pairs class. Last year, the only couple who figured in the championships, Ralph Decelis and Blanche Coppola, went on to obtain a prestigious result when placing second in the European Championships. Their success has encouraged other couples to take up the challenge.
There will also be the novices, juniors and masters classes apart from the usual weight categories.
Interest in next year’s nationals is already high as local bodybuilders see the competition as an opportunity to step up their preparations for the IFBB Mediterranean Championships, to be staged in Malta in November.
More details about IFBB Malta activities will be given at a general meeting next month.
