London-based Maltese actor Chris Dingli has cancelled his flight back to London after the New Year to stay on and perform extra shows of Dingle Bells Malcolm Smells.
The comedy show sold out its run at St James Cavalier before opening night. Mr Dingli, who was due to return to London on January 6, has now extended his stay in Malta until the following weekend to allow for extra shows to take place.
“I’m amazed at the response we’ve had from the public”, said Mr Dingli who had planned to return to London to search for a new place to live, having handed in his notice before coming to Malta for Christmas. “Come end of January, I must vacate my current flat, so staying on in Malta doesn’t make the flat hunt any easier! However, the show sold so fast that my not even my family had enough time to get tickets to see it!”
Dingle Bells Malcolm Smells is an improvised comedy featuring actors Chris Dingli and Malcolm Galea. Directed by Wesley Ellul, the story line of the show is made up on the night, as are the characters and even the lines that the actors speak. As a result, the show is different every time it is performed.
The extra shows will take place on January 7 and 8. Tickets go on sale today and are available at www.theatregonewrong.com. A few remaining tickets are available for January 2 and 3 shows.
