HSBC issues new capital-secured ELDA

HSBC Malta has launched the 25th issue of its Equity Linked Deposit Account. This product offers depositors capital security and the potential of higher annual returns than those normally offered by other deposit accounts.

The return on this ELDA is linked to the performance of a currency basket composed of the Brazilian Real, Indian Rupee, Russian Ruble and the Chinese Renmimbi against the euro thus giving customers access to high growth emerging markets.

The five-year ELDA which can yield up to 6.25 per cent interest per annum is denominated in euro and requires a minimum deposit of €2,500.

The closing date for this limited issue is February 5, 2011, but the Bank may close the offer earlier if it is oversubscribed.

More information about the ELDA BRIC currencies may be obtained from www.hsbc.com.mt, HSBC branches around Malta and Gozo or from customer service on 2380 2380.
