There were 6,655 people registering as unemployed in November, a drop of 933 over the corresponding month last year.

In November, the number of people registering for work in Malta stood at 5,963 whereas the figure for Gozo amounted to 692.

Accordingly, the number of registered unemployed in Malta decreased by 838, in Gozo by 95 .

A total of 5,251 males were registering for employment, 40.5 per cent of them aged 45+. The number of registered female unemployed amounted to 1,404 or 21.1 per cent of the total registered unemployed.

Year on year, the number of people registering for work for less than 20 weeks dropped by 384, while those registering for more than one year decreased by 107.

The highest share of men sought occupations related to services, sales and crafts, whereas women mostly sought clerical and service-oriented occupations.
