The Malta Tourism Authority and the Għaqda Ħbieb tal-Presepju have organised a cribs and Christmas art exhibition inside Auberge D’Italie, Merchants Street, Valletta.

The exhibition was launched last week by the MTA’s chief executive Josef Formosa Gauci. A total of 92 exhibits are being exhibited, all based on the traditional nativity scene, but expressed through different media.

Mr Formosa Gauci said: “The cribs and Christmas art exhibition proved very popular last year, with thousands of visitors dropping in, and the MTA believed it should become an annual event.”

In addition to the Cribs and Christmas art exhibition, the MTA this year launched its 2011 calendar as a mini exhibit. The calendar, themed ‘Steps of Valletta’ was photographed and designed by MTA employee and avid photographer Mario Galea.

The black and white images are on display at the entrance and one may obtain a copy of the calendar from the reception in return for a €2 donation towards L-Istrina.

The exhibition will be open until January 7 and is open from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. till 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. The exhibition will be closed on Saturday.
