Without in any way condoning the practices mentioned in your feature ‘Prostitutes posing as sexy masseuses’ (December 19), it is to be stated that the authorities have confirmed in writing that even four- or five-star hotels can employ just about anybody to carry out massage therapy on their premises. There is no legal requirement to employ qualified therapists. Which is not only a shame on professional therapists who are certified and qualified, but also an embarrassment to the tourist industry.
