A record number of visitors viewed the Prince of Wales Apartments in Sliema during the Open Day that was organised specifically to show the public the unique services and facilities on offer. Over 300 people were shown around the private apartments and facilities which were developed specifically to provide an independent living solution for the elderly.

“We decided to organise an Open Day as part of our fifth anniversary operations and the feedback has been excellent. We were kept busy with visitors the entire day and we even broke our record, with over 300 coming to view the apartments in a matter of just a few hours,” said Paul Pace, general manager of Prince of Wales.

“We have a number of clients who have expressed an interest in joining our community here at Prince of Wales, which is the only establishment in Malta to offer such a unique lifestyle for the elderly. We are proud of the fact that we offer complete privacy and independence, yet we also have a fully secured environment where our residents can enjoy a family atmosphere and will always find a helping hand when needed,” he continued.

“It was also an opportunity for us to meet the public and learn more about people’s perceptions of our services and facilities,” he said.

“Some of the visitors were under the wrong impression that they would have to give us their house to be able to take up residency at the Prince of Wales, which is certainly not the case! It was a great opportunity to be able to explain our offers and packages for both short and long stays in greater detail.”

The Prince of Wales was the very first and only establishment to embrace the concept of independent living for the elderly, promoting an independent lifestyle within a close-knit and secure environment. The apartments are perfectly designed with independence in mind, and are fully equipped with kitchen, dining room, living area, bathroom and bedroom/s, yet also benefit from a 24 hour security and emergency assistance service.

The complex itself also features common areas, including a living area, an activity room, a courtyard garden, a sun terrace, and a wellness centre with an indoor heated pool and an underground parking area. All residents can make use of these facilities and they can also choose to participate in the regular activities organised in house, including excursions, games and afternoon teas.
