Six face drug charges, denied bail
Six man were remanded in custody this afternoon after having been accused in court of conspiring to traffic ecstasy pills, trafficking and committing a crime within 100 metres of a youth club.
The accused were Matthew Zarb, 22 of Birkirkara, Franklin Orsini, 18 of Fgura, Mark Anthony Bartolo, 34 of Sta Lucija, Duncan Caruana, 23 of Tarxien, Joseph Kevin Borg 36, and a 17-year-old boy from Sta Lucija.
Caruana was also accused of attempted serious injury of a public official , damaging a car and relapsing
All the men were also accused of possession of cannabis.
The police earlier today said officers found 1,000 ecstasy pills in a property in Tarxien when the six were arrested late on Saturday.

I hope the police investigate the reports of lately stolen objects and if found in their possession they should be returned!

So drug dealers are denied bail (no problem), but the courts think previously convicted gunmen should be given bail and so the are out on bail to try another armed robbery!
Give me a break from this mickey mouse daft courts situation with it's 'illogical bail madness' rulings.
Do we not have anyone capable of sorting out the Malta courts system to ensure the public rights overule the rights of known criminals - or will it be the same old 'muddle through' system forever?

Granting bail to bank robbers and serious criminals while denying bail to someone for smoking a joint.... that's typical of the Maltese justice system - always after the small fish
