I read in bewilderment Turkey is still perusing the idea of joining the European Union’s sinking ship.
Although talks have ground to a halt, one wonders how a country like Turkey can keep its head buried in the sand and join a Union that is floundering.
With the number of EU members, at least four, facing extreme financial problems, one can only beging to wonder whether the idea of bringing together a number of countries and joining them in spirit, strength and unity can survive.
The Union now admits they were rather hasty in allowing Romania and Bulgaria to join the others.
Turkey started accession talks way back in 2005 at the same time as Croatia. Will the EU regret once again the inclusion of Turkey or are they seeking an alley to boost their flagging morale?
