Social inclusion project

Maltese and Gozitan artists and musicians are invited to take part in a social inclusion themed project that will promote the integration of people who have been marginalised.

Organised by the Malta EU Steering Action Committee, the project, called Social Responsibility: Empowerment Through Art, will be implemented in 2011, earmarked by the EU as the Year for Volunteering.

The project focuses on the importance of artistic expression as a medium through which issues related to social exclusion can be tackled.

Those interested can submit their expression of interest by January 5 via info.meusac@gov.mt.

Blood donation

The mobile blood donation unit will be available for blood donation next to St Helen parish church, Birkirkara, tomorrow, from 8.30 a.m. till 1.30 p.m.

Charity in Paceville

Paceville establishments have teamed up for the first time to collect donations for fundraising marathon L-Istrina. All major establishments in Paceville will be promoting and collecting donations from bars and food counters while urging people who visit to also make a contribution. The fundraising runs until December 23.

Mass and adoration

Adoration and Mass will be held on Monday between 8 and 10 p.m. at St Francis church, Msida Road, Birkirkara to make amends for the offensive acts committed when it is full moon.

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in parts of Falkun, Ħuttaf and Alwett streets in San Ġwann.

From 8.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in parts of E. Bradford, Jules Verne, P. Brydone, and Fortizza tal-Mosta streets and surrounding areas in Naxxar.

Gozo ferry trips

Gozo Channel ferry MV Malita will not be in service on Tuesday and Wednesday. To compensate, Gozo Channel will increase the frequency of the morning trips on both days to every 30 minutes between 6 and 7.30 a.m. from Mġarr and Ċirkewwa.

Children’s party
