10th anniversary of the Maltese panto

Teatru Rjal dramatic company and the direction of the Catholic Institute have decided to dedicate the 10th anniversary of the pantomime in Maltese in this theatre to Ziggie Lulu, the most popular dame with past panto audiences and the institute.

This year’s panto in Maltese Ziggie Lulu… Pass Pass mal-Istorja depicts Malta’s history through the eyes of Ziggie herself. And with all the changing of different costumes pertaining to different eras, Teatru Rjal is promising a celebration full of colour, dance, humour, stage sets and every other detail needed to make each performance a memorable one.

Hector Bruno, in his 10th panto with Teatru Rjal, leads a cast packed with popular actors and singers the likes of Leontine, Snits, Laura Bruno, Ina Robinich, Neville Refalo, Glenn Vella, Fabian Scerri De Carlo, Ronald Briffa, Toni Busuttil, Eileen Micallef, Mario Camilleri, Franky Borg, Alan Falzon and more, along with the troupe of dancers from Yada Dance Company under the able choreography of Felix Busuttil.

Music, which will be performed live, is directed by Neville Gatt. The panto’s original script has been penned by Joe Julian Farrugia. Augusto Cardinali will direct the panto, which is produced by Pawlu Testa.

Performances will be held tomorrow, December 26-30, and January 1, 2, 7-9, 16 and 17.
