AGIUS VADALÀ. On December 13, MARION, aged 86, widow of Comm. Maurice, née Stilon De Piro, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her children, Sr Celia (Congregation of St Dorothy), Marisa and her husband Anthony Hayhurst, Christine and her husband Hugh Peralta, Tom and his wife Patricia, John and his wife Julia, her beloved grandchildren Richard, Paul, Robert, Filippa, Carl, Francesca, Michael, Emma and Sophie, and their respective spouses, and her treasured great grandchildren, her brothers Rudolph and his wife Joan, Franco, her sister Mila and her husband Antonio Pignatelli, relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be said at the Balluta parish church tomorrow at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. CIPRIOTT. On December 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, CHARLIE of Balzan, aged 67, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Marlene, his sons Peter and his wife Doris, Joseph and his wife Paula, and Clifford and his fiancée Maria, his grandchildren Jacob, Kaleigh, Sean and Kinhai, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8 a.m. for Marija Annunzjata parish church, Balzan, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Balzan cemetery. GALEA. On December 14, at Pax et Bonum Home, Mosta, CONCETTA of Cospicua, aged 72, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers and sisters, Fr Gaetan, OFM, and Emanuel who lives abroad, her sisters Sr Ilariana, Lucy and her husband Lino Pulis, and Moira, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. LEWIS. On December 14, MADALENE, née Bonnici, widow of George, of Valletta, aged 94, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Mary Rose and her husband Joe Mifsud, Albert and his wife Margaret, Censina and her husband Dennis Laferla, Joey and his wife Pauline, Iris and her husband Roger Agius, residing in UK, Annie Schembri, residing in Australia, Charles, Dominic and his wife Mary Rose, Catherine and her husband Charles Delmar, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brothers and sisters and their respective spouses, her sister-in-law Annie Polidano, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral Mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. at St Dominic parish church, Valletta, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. SALNITRO. On December 13, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, ARTHUR, of Qormi, aged 68, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Lucy, née Testa, his son Paul, his daughter Dorianne, her husband Stephen Caruana Salnitro, and grandson Isaac, brothers and sisters, in-laws, aunt, their families, nephews, nieces other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2.15 p.m. for St George parish church, Qormi where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m., followed by interment at the Resurrection Cemetery, Qormi. ZARB DIMECH. On December 12, MARY, née Dimech, of St Julians, aged 98, passed away peacefully at her home after a short illness borne with Christian fortitude. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Anthony, his wife Petronela, and their baby daughter Alexia-Sara; her sister Anne Zammit Dimech and her nephews John and Francis, other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel, followed by interment, last Monday. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Power cuts

There will be power cuts in the following localities tomorrow:

From 8 a.m. till noon in parts of St Aloysius Square parts of St Theresa, and Old Railway streets in Balzan.

From 8 a.m. till 2 p.m. in parts of F.W. Ryan and Sir H. Luke streets and the surrounding areas in Naxxar.

From 8.30 a.m. till 3 p.m. in Triq il-Parsott, parts of Il-Kappar and Il-Fortizza streets and the surrounding areas in Mosta.

Christmas fare

A life-size dining room made entirely of chocolate, used in the recent Ħamrun chocolate fest, will be exhibited at the Institute of Tourism Studies this week in aid of the Hospice Movement.

The two-day charity event in St Julians will also include a chocolate model of the Ħamrun parish church, family entertainment and stalls providing hot meals, snacks and drinks. ITS students have also prepared artistically decorated Christmas cakes, Christmas logs, mince pies and honey rings for sale.

The event will take place on Friday and Saturday between 9.30 a.m. and 10.30 p.m.

On the first day, Honda Malta will be displaying a number of classic Honda cars on the grounds and all proceeds will go towards Hospice in memory of Gillian Pons, the late wife of a member of the ITS academic staff, and Leone Camenzuli, a late member of the ITS staff.
