Arriva Malta gets online presence
The revamped public transport service will kick off on July 3 but the new company running the show yesterday launched the first phase of its website.
Arriva Malta said the website, arriva.com.mt, will be the source for all information on the company and the bus services it will be operating in Malta and Gozo.
Over the next six months Arriva will be building the site in phases, gradually adding sections and updating it regularly to provide commuters with information.
The first phase of the website includes the launch of About Arriva, a section with background information on the Arriva group and the Arriva Malta consortium.
Another active section is the one advertising job opportunities with the company, which aims to employ some 920 people including drivers, support staff, engineers, managers and administration staff.
The company said over the coming months route and timetable information, ticket and fare details will be introduced to the site.
The Arriva Malta website was developed by Maltese website agency Alert Communications.

The coming together of Arriva and the Tumas group forming ARRIVA MALTA makes for a strong partnership to deliver a transport reformation which could not have been envisaged in recent times, their new website speaks volumes for their professionalism and is a sample of what can be expected by the nation on delivery at 3rd July 2011.
Like every new venture it will have it's teething problems which can only be expected, but it will in time be welcomed by one and all and should be given the space to practice what has been preached. They deserve no less for their vision and the mammoth task that lies ahead.
