I am shocked at the greed the Nationalist government displays. We mortals get a miserly cost of living so-called “adjustment” even as the Cabinet and MPs gorge themselves – at our cost. Our ministers, who have so many perks get two salaries, too. Happy Christmas!

No wonder government MPs all voted for the back-breaking utility tariffs increases and do not say anything about the ever-rising gas prices, when gas prices all over the world are at rock bottom, there is so much gas to go round. I was not even given the free energy-saving bulbs.

In all the maligned Mintoff years, when the Nationalists whined so piteously at their party’s call, then party leader Eddie Fenech Adami never had to make Labour leader Joseph Muscat’s gesture of solidarity with the weak by foregoing such generous increases. Indeed, Dr Fenech Adami’s personal transport needs were quite adequately met: Businessmen bought him a Mercedes.
