The substantial “honoraria” which the Members of Parliament have decided to award themselves is not only disgusting… it is disgustingly and shamelessly obscene!

So, the Maltese taxpayers and pensioners have been insulted with a measly €1.16 weekly increase payable from next year. However, our “hard working” politicos will have their exorbitant self-awarded increase backdated to May 2008.

What kind of highway robbery is this?! How could these parasites have the cheeky audacity to be so greedy?! The answer is simple: because the present administration’s policy is “Don’t do what I do…do what I say!”

It is interesting and laughable to read David Agius’s comments where he said, “it is the remuneration that makes sense today for the work parliamentarians are expected to do”. These are true words spoken by a politician – he did not say “for the work parliamentarians are doing”.

We have read about the opinions of a number of the “chosen few” including that of the leader of the Labour Party. However, what does the leader of GonziPN, who also happens to be the leader of the government (for now) think about his pay increase and the extra burden of millions of euros forced upon the Maltese taxpayers by his Administration? I would imagine this is a case of “making hay while the sun shines”. The government does not have much longer to wield its iron fist upon the populace and therefore its members seem to be grabbing whatever they can prior to their well-earned demise!
