Hazardous waste landfill not operational

The hazardous waste landfill is currently not operational because it does not have the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit.

Talks were under way between WasteServ and Mepa on the various waste streams that could be treated in the facility once it became operational, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi told Labour MP Leo Brincat in reply to a parliamentary question.
