The President’s engagements

10 a.m. The President reviews a guard of honour by the Armed Forces of Malta, followed by a march on Republic Day at Palace Square, Valletta.

11 a.m. The President presides over the investiture ceremony on Republic Day at the Grand Council Chamber at the Palace, Valletta.

6 p.m. The President attends a concert, followed by a reception, at the Gozo Ministry’s Exhibition Hall, St Francis Square, Victoria, on Republic Day.

Tuesday

10 a.m. Mrs Abela attends an animated Mass with the participation of a class from every school in Gozo – ‘Mit-Tfal għat-Tfal’ at Sannat parish church, and is presented with a donation in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund.

11 a.m. The President receives Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi at the Palace, Valletta.

Noon The President is presented with a publication entitled ‘Nostalgias of Malta – Images by Modiano from the 1900s’ by Giovanni Bonello at the Palace, Valletta.

Noon Mrs Abela presides over the Malta Community Chest Fund working committee at San Anton Palace, Attard.

6.30 p.m. The President hosts a reception for past recipients of Xirka Ġieħ ir-Repubblika at San Anton Palace.

7.30 p.m. Mrs Abela attends the Christmas concert organised by the Sta Luċija council at San Pius X parish church, Sta Luċija.

Wednesday

10.30 a.m. The President visits Maypole in Qormi.

1.30 p.m. The President receives a courtesy call from members of the Vodafone Foundation(presenting the Corporate Social Responsibility report) at San Anton Palace.

2.30 p.m. The President is interviewed by Stephen Calleja for The Independent at San Anton Palace.

Thursday

9.30 a.m. The President and Mrs Abela attend Mass with schoolchildren to mark the official launch of Milied Flimkien 2010 at-St John’s Co Cathedral, Valletta.

7.30 p.m. The President and Mrs Abela host a Christmas concert by Collegium Musicum, directed by Mro Dion Buhagiar, at San Anton Palace.

Friday

10.15 a.m. The President is presented with a donation in aid of ‘L-Istrina mill-Qalb 2010’ from Mario Balzan Demajo, Pierre Luca Demajo and Herman Miceli Demajo, from Demajo Group, at the Palace, Valletta.

11 a.m. The President presides over a meeting of the Commission for the Administration of Justice at the Palace, Valletta.

6 p.m. The President inaugurates an 18th century Neapolitan crib mounted by Fr Edgar Vella at San Anton Palace.

8 p.m. The President and Mrs Abela attend a concert by Joseph Calleja at the Divine MercySanctuary, Naxxar.

Saturday

10 a.m. The President is interviewed by Andrew Azzopardi for his programme ‘Għandi x’Ngħid’ on Radju Malta, at PBS Studios Guardamanġa.

6.15 p.m. The President and Mrs Abela attend Milied Flimkien in aid of ‘L-Istrina mill-Qalb 2010’, at the Palace, Valletta.
