• The next Mir prayer meeting will be held on Tuesday from 7.30 to 10 p.m. at St Anne parish church, Marsascala. During this monthly meeting there will be a recital of the rosary followed by Mass and adoration. Priests will be available for the Sacrament of reconciliation. Instead of donating money those attending are asked to bring foodstuffs for Fondazzjoni Suret il-Bniedem, a Franciscan organisation that cares for the homeless. All are invited.

• The National Council of Women is presenting a talk on ‘Human Papillomavirus (HPV Screening, Care and Vaccination’ by Dr Katia Vella, at the NCW Centre, Blata l-Bajda on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

• The Association of the Members of the University of the Third Age (U3E) will be organising its Christmas lunch at the Plaza Hotel, Sliema, on Friday. Transport to and from Valletta will be provided. Booking is open at the U3E office, Catholic Institute, Floriana, from Monday to Thursday from 9 till 11 a.m. or call 2124 3202.

• A Christmas Village entitled Milied Rabti will be organised by the youth commission Żgħażagħ Rabtin Pawlini on the parvis of St Paul’s parish church in Rabat on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5 p.m. There will be several activities including performances by choirs and popular singers, face-painting and other crafts, a Santa Claus house, a Crib exhibition and stands selling traditional Christmas food.

• The next meeting of the San Ġorġ Preca Group will be held on Friday at 6.30 p.m. at the MUSEUM headquarters, Blata l-Bajda (entrance next to Preca Library). Young couples and mature adults are especially invited.
