Six Erasmus students recently completed an Erasmus Intensive Language Course.

The course, organised by the International and EU Office of the University of Malta, was funded through support received from the Commission of the European Communities within the framework of theLifelong Learning Programme, (Erasmus). The course was delivered by the Malta UniversityLanguage School of the University of Malta.

The course was open for Erasmus students following a mobility period at the University during the current academic year. The EILC aims to provide students with an opportunity to acquire knowledge of the Maltese language.

Students attended 60 hours in a lecture setting and successfully passed the assessment held at the end of the course.

The cultural component of the course aimed to expose participants to the historical and cultural aspects of Malta, drawing them closer to Maltese culture and lifestyle.

Visits included historical tours of Valletta, Mdina, Mosta and Marsaxlokk. Other places of interest visited were the Tarxien Temples and Domus Romana.

As part of the events, a Maltese cultural evening was held towards the end of the course.
