Ġanni Attard, 65 of Xaghra, who last month was jailed for life for complicity in the murder of warden Fortunata Spiteri has filed an appeal.

He pleaded that the penalty was excessive and the court had made a number of declarations which led to a lack of direction. He noted that the court had declared that his version of events was not credible, something which it should not have done.
