Obituary

AGIUS – GEORGE, of Sliema, passed into eternal life on December 5, aged 81. Mourning him deeply are his loving wife Lydia, his sons Raymond and his wife Shirley, Michael and his wife Lily, his daughter Lorna, his cherished grandchildren, Brittany Agius Bailey, Stephanie Wilson, Michelle Dix, Sarah VanOsten, Dylan VanOsten, his precious great-grandsons Levi and Liam and his loving brothers, sisters, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.15 p.m. for Balluta parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Ursuline Crèche, Sliema, will be greatly appreciated.

FIORENTINO. On December 7, at Mater Dei Hospital, NICHOLAS of Luqa, residing in Marsascala, aged 60, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Connie, his children Ryan and his wife Anna, Pierre and his wife Marilyn, Ingrid and her fiancée Jonathan, his mother Philippa and his father Salvu, his brothers and sisters, his in-laws and their respective families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.15 a.m., for St Anne’s parish church, Marsascala, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at St Andrew’s Cemetery, Luqa. Donations to the Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

SCICLUNA. On December 7, CONCETTA of Balzan, passed away peacefully at Casa Antonia Residential Caring Home, Balzan, at the age of 87, surrounded by her loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children Anthony and Louis and her daughter-in-law Gillian, Brikena Ndreko and Tania Dalli, her grandchildren Stephanie, Alexander and Nicholas, her sisters Catherine Farrugia, Evelyn Carachi and her sister-in-law Antonia Attard, widow of her brother Carmelo, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Casa Antonia today at 8 a.m. for the Annunciation parish church, Balzan, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Balzan cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Special thanks to the management and nursing staff at Casa Antonia for their care and dedication. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Longer postal services

Maltapost will be extending the opening hours of various branches, the parcel office and its delivery service to keep up the quality of its service during the peak Christmas period.

Postal services in the head office branch will be available Monday to Saturday between 8 a .m. and 7 p.m. while the parcel office (for collection of notified non-dutiable parcels, bulky packets and EMS items) will be open Monday to Saturday between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Customs clearance service at the head office will be available Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 12.45 p.m. and from 1.45 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday between 8 a.m. and 12.45 p.m. Maltapost can also clear items from Customs on behalf of customers at a nominal fee upon receiving authorisation from clients.

The postal services at Mosta, Rabat, Birkirkara, Paola and Sliema will, as from tomorrow be available from Monday to Friday between 7.30 a.m. and 12.45 p.m. and 4 to 7.30 p.m. and Saturday between 7.30 a.m. and 12.45 p.m.

The Maltapost branch in Castille Square, Valletta will be open Monday to Friday between 8.15 a.m. and 3.45 p.m. and 4 and 7 p.m. and on Saturday between 8.15 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. Maltapost’s nationwide delivery service is being extended until 9 p.m. between Monday to Sunday until December 23.

Blood donation

The mobile blood donation unit will be available for blood donation next to Żebbuġ parish church today, from 8.30 a.m. till 1.30 p.m.
