A 32-year-old man from Cospicua was lucky to escape serious injury tonight when his car was involved in a head-on crash with a bus in the Cospicua tunnel.

The crash happened at about 9.30 p.m. - a month and one day after another head-on crash a few metres away injured a woman.

In today's incident, the man was driving a red Seat Ibiza towards Cospicua when the vehicle appeared to go out of control. The bus was being driven towards Corradino.

A medical team from Mater Dei Hospital and rescuers of the Civil Protection Department were on the scene.

The incident caused considerable traffic problems since the feast of the Immaculate Conception was being celebrated at Cospicua today.
