Sliema Wanderers were hit badly by the decisions of the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner yesterday after defenders Julian Briffa and Clifford Gatt Baldacchino were handed a one-match ban while club president Steve Abela received a two-match suspension.

Briffa and Gatt Baldacchino picked a fourth yellow card during Sunday’s draw against Birkirkara and will now miss their team’s next match against Marsaxlokk.

Abela was ordered off the bench by the referee in the same match.

In other disciplinary decisions, Birkirkara will be without Joseph Zerafa for Monday’s match against Floriana and Jonathan Bondin is ruled out of Qormi’s match against Vittoriosa on Sunday following his red card last weekend.

Orosco Anonam, of Marsaxlokk, will skip Tarxien’s match against Ħamrun on Friday and the other player sanctioned yesterday was Richard Hart. The Hibs midfielder will miss the fixture against Valletta on Monday.
