The remains of the balloon and its gondola used by Richard Abruzzo, 47, of Albuquerque, and Carol Rymer Davis, 65, of Denver, who participated in the 54th Gordon Bennett Gas Balloon Race, in Vieste, Italy, yesterday, after they were found by an Italian fishing boat. The boat hauled in the balloon gondola with the bodies of the Americans still inside while fishing 117 kilometres north of Vieste. The two men had taken off from the English city of Bristol on September 25, and lost contact on September 29 as they flew over the Adriatic.
