Labour leader Joseph Muscat said today that it was shameful that the Prime Minister was repeating 'lies' about him to a point which was close to slander.
Dr Muscat was referring to comments by Dr Gonzi on alleged links with power station contract bidder Bateman.
The Opposition leader said that if anyone had any explaining to do, it was Dr Gonzi, who needed to say how a Cabinet decision for the power station to use gas had been changed in favour of technology which was harmful to the environment and the people's health.
The prime minister was referring to European Commission decisions which had not yet been taken, Dr Muscat said.
Furthermore, Dr Muscat said, the main subcontractor in the power station project was Zaren Vassallo, a financial backer of the PN.
