Recently restored wax reliefs by Melchiorre Cafà, for years obscured behind layers of plaster and silver leaf, are on show at Palazzo de Piro in Mdina. The 17th century house, purchased recently by the Metropolitan Chapter, was opened yesterday evening in its new guise as a cultural centre.
