Hundreds of people turned up at Siggiewi's St Nicholas Square today for the Pork Fest, an annual event held by the Pig Breeders Cooperative (KIM) and the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs.

The activity was aimed to promote the appreciation of local pork products.

On offer was a wide variety of freshly cooked pork by ITS students while fresh pork and pork products were also for sale, along with handicrafts and vegetables. Such was its success, that visitors complained that the pork ran out early.

Farm animals were on display and visitors could also use a shuttle service to visit a pig farm.
