On November 14 this newspaper published a two-page article by Joe Bugeja. Half the space was taken up by photos, depicting among others, a postage stamp showing Winston Churchill, one of the arch-enemies of the Maltese.

The whole article is, from beginning to end, full of venom against anything that is British. The words “usurpers”, “blunderers”, “misdeed doers”, “greedy”, “vindictive”, “egoists”, “imposers”, “subjugators”, etc., always referring to the British, take up most of the space.

To add insult to injury, the author had the cheek to end his article by stating: “Believe it or not, I am pro-British by education, by profession and by conviction.”

I feel that Lord Strickland would turn in his grave if he were to learn that Strickland House was publishing such misleading anti-British propaganda.
