Victoria and Qala will celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday.

Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead a concelebrated pontifical Mass at the Immaculate Conception sanctuary in Qala at 9.30 a.m. The traditional motor vehicles pilgrimage from Ta’ Pinu sanctuary to the Immaculate Conception sanctuary starts at 1.30 p.m. Archpriest Joseph Zammit will bless the vehicles on arrival and give mementoes to all participants.

Mgr Lawrence Xerri will lead solemn vespers at 4 p.m. The procession with the statue of the Immaculate Conception, accompanied by the Ite ad Joseph Band will start at 5 p.m.

Fr Provincial Samuel Chetcuti, OFM. Conv., will lead a concelebrated Mass, with the participation of the Laudate Pueri choir, at the Franciscan Conventual church, Victoria, at 9.30 a.m. The procession with the statue of the Immaculate Conception will leave the church at 5 p.m. The La Stella Band will take part. The Mnarja Band will give a concert at St Francis Square at 5.45 p.m., followed by a fireworks display.
