Dough re mi...pizza acrobat delights

Pizza acrobat Giovanni di Santo put on a show this evening for the first patrons at a newly-opened pizzeria in Gzira.

The Sicilian was brought to Malta for the opening of Pizza Amore & Fantasia at The Strand, Gzira, delighted onlookers with a slick demonstration of his handling of pizza dough.

He and another champion, Gennaro Lafratta, are to train Maltese female Pizzaioli - in the kitchen and not in the street where he holds his performances.

Managing Director Carlo Stivala said the pizzeria will offer the famous Olive Ascolane and other products from the Marche and Abruzzo regions.
