Two wine-tasting holidays up for grabs

E&D, The Times’ food and drink magazine, will be out with a bumper Christmas issue tomorrow, bringing readers a selection of delicious recipes with a festive twist, tempting photography, intriguing interviews and a myriad of ideas for this special season.

The issue will also offer two readers the opportunity to kick off the New Year in style with the chance to win a holiday in Sicily. The competition, being held in conjunction with Marabino wines and The Black Pearl, will offer the two winners and their two guests an all-expenses paid trip to the Marabino wine estate coupled with a wine-tasting and food matching experience.

The December issue focuses on ways to make the festive season a memorable one in all the right ways. The traditionalists will find a spread to that well-loved Christmas delicacy – the pudding. And if you’re after something different to wash it down with, the feature about mulled cider will offer some great ideas. And to entertain in style, watch out for the luscious offerings by some of Malta’s top chefs.

On the travel front, this month the spotlight falls on the humble hamburger, as E&D’s correspondent travels all the way to the appropriately named city of Hamburg to find the perfect specimen. In this edition, E&D also investigates the issue of sustainable cooking with an eye-opening interview with Karen Mugliett, who later this month will be launching her own recipe book.
