‘No one can take our education away’

Whatever happened to the certificate, no one could take away the “solid” education received at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology from its graduates, a student said yesterday.

Speaking during the final Mcast graduation ceremony at the Hilton yesterday, higher national diploma graduate Nadia Cutajar praised the education received at the college as a holistic one which prepared its students for working life.

“Work placements and hands-on experience... helped us encounter the real working life of the subjects we were studying. It is the experience of joining practical knowledge with studies that make us better prepared to do our work better and more responsibly,” Ms Cutajar said.

This contrasts sharply with what University law and commerce graduates said in their speeches the previous day when they questioned the relevance of their courses once they were out in the working world and called for increased collaboration with industry.
