A 19th century statue of Our Lady of the Rosary located in Qormi has just been restored.

The statue, located in St Peter Street, was commissioned in stone in gratitude for the fulfilment of a vow.

It is the second such statue in Qormi to be restored through the Restoration of Historical Places Scheme administered by the Local Government Parliamentary Secretariat. A statue of St Paul has already been restored in the same town and restoration works on a statue of St George and on the Dejma Cross at Tal-Ħandaq will start soon.

Earlier this year, 21 councils received €161,000 to help them restore 75 historical sites. These include monuments, statues and works of art including a 16th century painting.
