China faces increased social unrest

Chinese police investigating a robbery at a jewellery shop in Beijing yesterday. China faces rising crime rates and increased social unrest, according to the country’s top think-tank. The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences said criminal prosecutions were up 10 per cent and public security cases up nearly 20 per cent last year and it predicted the rise would continue even as the economy improved this year.

Considering that the population of China is about 3300 times that of Malta, I consider that China is one of the most peaceful nations on earth.
Vice versa, Malta could be considered as a very bad place to live.
