'Zefferina' chosen as mental health campaign mascot
A mascot designed by San Anton School pupil Lucia Calleja has been adopted by Mt Carmel Hospital and will be used in educational campaigns on mental health.
The winning design was announced at a ceremony this afternoon by Parliamentary Secretary Mario Galea.
The mascot, called Zefferina, features a 'bunny' dressed as a nurse.
Mr Galea in an address said the competition, open to all schools, gave the children an opportunity to learn more about Mt Carmel Hospital and mental health.
It was important, he said, that society removed its misconceptions about mental health and gave this issue the importance it deserved.

Well done to all who have participated in the choosing of the mental health campaign mascot and all those who work towards the reduction of the stigma and discrimination that still perseveres despite all the education that is available these days - Steve Demicoli Registered Mental health Nurse (acting Secretary - Maltese Association of Psychiatric Nurses)
