Dwejra’s beauty

An image of Gozo’s spectacular Azure Window has been selected as National Geographic’s travel photo of the week. The photo, taken by Ted Attard, shows the natural landmark in Dwejra that is shaped like a giant window through which one can admire the blue sea beyond the cliff. Ironically, it comes in the aftermath of a debacle for the protected site, in which fossil-rich rocks were covered in sand-like construction material for use as a set in a US television series.
