For the past 30 months I have been closely associated with St Paul’s Bay. As a dutiful citizen I have been exercising my rights and responsibilities to attend as regularly as possible the local council’s meetings.
I regret to note publicly that these meetings are conducted with a complete lack of serious chairmanship.
For over one year I have spoken to the mayor; I have had meetings with madam mayor with a written prepared agenda concerning matters that need attending to in the locality’s interests; I have submitted personal reminders also involving the mayor’s personal assistant as a polite chaser.
I have neither had the standard sterile “acknowledgment” much less a written follow-up or seen my submitted suggestions and complaints attended to. During my meetings with the mayor the lady takes random notes on a slip of paper. Nothing else happens that I know of. I am making all this public to arouse this salaried official as an elected representative of the community to deliver.
I do not intend to enter into exchanges of correspondence. However, if need be, I will not shy away from exposing furthermore the unpleasant details to substantiate what I have written.
