The Malta Student Ramblers recently kicked off this season’s series of walks with a two-and-a-half-hour ramble in Dingli.
A record number of 43 participants from different backgrounds, faculties and nationalities gathered in front of St Magdalene’s chapel on Dingli Cliffs. From here, walk leader Marco Montebello led the group past the radar station towards the Ta’ Baldu area, Wied ir-Rum and Għajn Tejtes.
The Malta Student Ramblers group was formed in February 2009 as a branch of the Ramblers’ Association of Malta targeted at young people, particularly students.
The Malta Student Ramblers organises occasional walks, not only as a recreational and fitness activity, but also to educate youths and make them aware of our environment. These walks are led by experienced ramblers and are usually joined by one or more veteran members of the Ramblers’ Association of Malta.
Another walk is being planned for early December and anyone interested in joining is asked to follow the blog at studentramblers.blogspot.com or join the Malta Student Ramblers Facebook page for more details.
