The Malta Sports Council (KMS) recently launched its ‘Girls on the Move’ programme, which will start on November 29.
This is a 24-week sports programme designed for girls between the ages of nine and 16.
Participants will be able to choose from a variety of sporting activities, which will be held in a safe environment.
The programme aims to encourage girls to adopt more active lifestyles and try different types of sports.
The programme will include aikido, aerobics, athletics, badminton, basketball, cycling, football, gymnastics, hip-hop dancing, handball, judo, netball, pilates, rugby, self-defence, snooker and volleyball.
Training will usually be held once a week at various venues. All coaches working in the ‘Girls on the Move’ programme are qualified in their respective sports.
Completed application forms, together with payment, can be sent or handed in to the KMS Head Office, Cottonera Sports Complex, Cospicua.
The offices are open from Monday to Friday between 8.30 a.m. and noon. Online registration and payments can be made at www.sportmalta.org.mt.
