Viking Moorings partners Mainticare to cover Med, ME oil and gas exploration

Viking Moorings, the Norway-headquartered provider of mooring solutions to the offshore oil and gas industry, last Tuesday signed an international agency agreement with Mainticare Ltd, one of Malta’s largest marine and oilfield services contractors.

Mainticare will provide Viking Moorings’ extensive portfolio of mooring equipment and services throughout the western and central Mediterranean and Middle East region, as well as providing management, warehousing and logistics services.

Mainticare have established an office in Aberdeen, Scotland, to extend services to UK clients operating offshore north Africa and in the Mediterranean.

The announcement will ensure operators with exploration activities offshore Italy, Croatia, Libya, Algeria and Tunisia will have access to the very latest in mooring solutions from Viking, the companies said.

Under the agreement, a portfolio of mooring equipment will be available at short notice as well as on-site services, such as mobile chain inspection units, wire rope inspection and other high value engineering services.

Mainticare will also provide mooring solutions to Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Mainticare Limited, a member of the Ablecare Oilfield Services Group, is one of the leading Mediterranean-based suppliers of specialist products and services to the marine, energy and power industries.

The western and central Mediterranean continues to see an increase in offshore exploration with a number of energy companies in the region. Recent discoveries have been found offshore Tunisia, the Sirte Basin, Gulf of Gabes and offshore Libya.

Viking Moorings has an operational presence in Scotland, Egypt, Ghana, South Africa, Singapore, and western Australia.

The company has wholly owned offices in Norway, the UK, Australia and Singapore, and a representative office in Houston, US.
